This is the case in many illnesses. For example, urinary tract infections are often treated with antibiotics but the infection quickly returns after taking them. This is because antibiotics kill all the bacteria in your intestines- the good bacteria and the bad bacteria. Once you kill it all it leaves a place for the bad bacteria to grow- causing dysbiosis or yeast.

Rotator cuff injuries are the most common injury to the shoulder. People frequently damage the supraspinatous while working above their heads- painting, construction, etc. This injury produces pain that goes from the top of the shoulder through the bicep and produces a pinch when lifting the arm. Western medicine generally treats this problem with surgery. Sometimes surgery is necessary but acupuncture can also eliminate this pain in many cases. It is always worth while to try acupuncture before having your shoulder operated on for this injury.

What is the best remedy for otitis media (ear infection) in children? Not antibiotics contrary to popular opinions by doctors. Ear infections are generally viral not bacterial so children generally only get temporary relief from antibiotics. After the antibiotics they are more suseptible to get more ear infections. Why? Because the antibiotics kill all the good bacteria in the gut leaving the child immune system low and their digestion impaired which then creates more phlegm. Chinese herbs are an exceptional remedy for ear infections. Also probiotics are extremely important.
