Moxabustion

Moxabustion: Moxabustion is the process of burning the herb mugwort artemesia on the skin  or indirectly.

Direct Moxa: the herb is burned in small cones directly on the skin (without burning the skin) to stimulate and warm acupuncture points.  This can help stimulate the body’s resources to heal, it is very effective in low energy and digestive disorders such as diarrhea. This can also be very effective in treating pain especially old injuries in areas that needles are difficult to insert. (ex: parts of the knees, ankles, elbows, wrists- directly on the bone)

Indirect Moxa: the herb is burned in sticks indirectly to the skin to stimulate and warm acupuncture points. This can be effective with pain, digestive disorders, and turning breech babies.
